Manac inc. purchases certain assets of trailmobile canada ltd.
Manac Inc.,
the largest semitrailer manufacturer in Canada, has
purchased certain assets of Trailmobile Canada Ltd.
in the scope of an asset liquidation process. The
sale took place following the company’s bankruptcy,
which was officially announced in April 2009. Trailmobile,
which specialized in manufacturing dryvan semitrailers,
ceased all operations in mid-December 2008.
The purchase
of assets, which took place in the first week of
May, included production equipment and raw materials
inventories. No land or buildings were part of the
transaction. Most of the equipment will be integrated
at Manac’s four North American plants. Raw
materials inventories will be used in the normal
course of operations or possibly be resold.
Since
its inception in 1966, Manac has manufactured over
100,000 semitrailers, each built with the same durability
and reliability standards. Manac operates four plants,
which are located in Saint-Georges and Trois-Rivières,
in the province of Quebec (Canada), and in Oran and
Kennett, in the state of Missouri (United States).
